Restoration Project Manager

FirstResponse – DKI is a locally owned, established, disaster restoration company servicing BC’s Sunshine Coast for over 25 years. Our community is growing and the demand for our services is consistently increasing, so we are expanding our team to include an additional full-time Project Manager.
The POSITION: The Restoration Project Manager position is a full-time, M-F, 8:30-4:30 in-person role based out of Gibsons, BC that includes shared on-call rotation. As Project Manager you will lead and coordinate mulit-person teams of staff and sub-trades for the successful completion of various disaster restoration projects. You will work closely with property owners, adjusters, insurance companies, and/or property management companies to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
The WORK:
• Perform wholistic project management from inception to completion
• Perform site inspections to determine scope of emergency remediation and reconstruction
• Prepare estimates for submission and approval
• Establish and manage project budgets / estimates
• Confirm deductibles and obtain payment prior and project draws as required
• Review construction plans for compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances (plumbing, mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.) and/ or consult with engineers as needed
• Ensure proper trade selection, trade management, and vendor compliance
• Obtain building permits when required
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and monitor receivables for each project
• Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, and utilization
• Perform periodic site inspections of project to determine compliance with approved estimate
• Maintain consistent communication with clients, insurance adjusters, property managers, policy holders, tenants, sub-contractors, etc.
• Liaise with internal staff and sub-contractors to facilitate successful project completion
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
• Meet or exceed pre-set profit margins for projects
• Ensure all project documents are obtained, completed and submitted with accuracy, and on deadline
Job Requirements
THE REQUIREMENTS:
· Must reside on the Sunshine Coast, BC or have concrete plans to relocate by start date.
· Must have a valid BC Divers Licence and own vehicle (gas and mileage stipend provided)
· Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
· 3-5 years progressive work experience in ProjectManagement, or supervisory role, preferably within the restoration, construction, property management/strata, or insurance industries
· 3-5 years minimum in an administrative role
· Strong knowledge of the Canadian RestorationIndustry preferred
· Knowledge of residential insurance industry a strong asset
· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and MS Office
· Experience/ training using Xactimate, Xactanalysis and other proprietary industry software an asset
· Preference will be given to applicants with valid IICRC Certifications.
· Fluent written and spoken English
· Available for occasional on-call and after hours work
· Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with strong leadership and a team mindset
· Outstanding communicator- written, verbal, digital etc.
· Ability to mulit-task and prioritize frequently changing deadlines
